Orders & Payments

Orders placed on this Web site are typically prepaid, where payments by US credit cards in US funds are accepted, and shipments are ade within North America (add hyperlink to Shipping & Delivery section).

Purchase orders may be accepted for recognized customers, customers in good standing or by pre-agreement, at the discretion of Weigh and Measure, LLC.  To check the purchase order acceptability for your organization, please contact the Sales Office (hyperlink the words “Sales Office” to open new email).  For accepted POs, use the “Print and Call” feature when submitting an order, noting the PO#.  Payment of purchase orders shall be made Net 30 days by check payment or ACH deposit.

Large volume orders and special orders may require payment in advance as noted here (hyperlink word “here” to “Special/Custom Orders” section).

International customers should contact the Sales Office (hyperlink the words “contact the sales office” to open new email) to place an order for payment by bank (wire) transfer, which currently incurs a $45.00 bank fee. This fee may be waived for large volume orders.  International credit cards may be accepted at the discretion of Weigh and Measure, LLC, where a 6% admin/processing fee applies to the total order, and where shipping shall take place once the funds are deposited.  Customers may be required to complete and submit an order form that will be provided to process any international order.  (add hyperlink words “international order” to “Worldwide” section in below Shipping & Delivery).

Sales Tax
Weigh and Measure, LLC charges US state sales tax for merchandise ordered on this Web site based on the applicable State sales tax rate and the location to where the items ship. There is no State sales tax, VAT or other tax applicable to international orders.

There may be instances where state sales tax does not appear in your shopping cart for some products that ship direct from a manufacturer who is required to charge sales tax for their state.  In this instance, all tax exempt customers will be informed of the situation and the sales tax amount due, and they will be required to provide their tax exempt certificate to avoid being charged the additional state sales tax charge.

Customers acknowledge that they must provide tax exempt certificates within three (3) business days, otherwise the applicable State sales tax assessed to Weigh and Measure, LLC by the manufacturer, or the Maryland State sales tax for Maryland orders, will be charged against the Customer’s credit card that was used to place the order.

Order Processing Procedure
An order acknowledgement is sent at the time of order. Orders are typically processed within 24 business hours after receipt. Please review the Cancellation policy here (Hyperlink the word “here” to Returns & Cancellations).  Depending on the product, manufacturer’s stock availability, or volume of the order, etc., shipping should take place within 3 business days. Customers will be notified of any delay in shipping.

Customers will also be informed of any backorder status. In this instance, a cancellation will be accepted if the timing for the backorder is not acceptable to the customer, and a refund in full will be issued, including the freight cost. If the customer approves the backorder timing, the customer shall be notified when the product comes in stock.

Customers will receive email notifications with tracking for their order; these emails may be generated by the carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.).

Special/Custom Order
The customer will be informed of the lead time for a product that is deemed special order, custom or made-to-order. Once the lead time is approved by the customer, the order is deemed confirmed, after which there is no cancellation, no return, and no refund.

The customer will receive an email confirmation This policy extends to, but is not limited to, calibrated weights and calibrated weight sets, sitting height stools, custom-sized standardization rods, customized measuring tapes, imported products, etc. This policy also covers volume orders of any standard product where large quantities may require special order of inventory.

Email Notifications
It is the responsibility of the customer to check the SPAM, JUNK, CLUTTER, email boxes for notifications regarding their order(s).

Shipping & Delivery

This Web site currently is set up to process orders to ship merchandise to locations within the United States and U.S. territories, including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands and Canada, by Federal Express or UPS. Shipping on our GSA FedEx is also available. The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered passes to the customer when the shipping carrier takes possession of the merchandise.

Worldwide shipping is available by special arrangement; contact the Sales Office for rates (hyperlink words “Sales Office” to open a new email) or by phone +1-301-774-9006. We ship via DHL Express, Federal Express, on our standard or GSA account. We also ship insured air freight (door-to-airport), incoterms CIP, and insured sea freight (door-to-sea port), incoterms CIF, using one of our freight forwarders. It is also possible to arrange EX WORKS orders, where an administrative/processing fee of between $50.00 – $150.00 applies, depending on the size and scope of the order to ship.

All shipping costs exclude additional charges, such as customs duties, taxes, importing and clearance fees, which are the responsibility of the receiver. Such costs vary from country to country. Contact the local customs office for details.

Shipping laws are different in each country. It is the customer’s responsibility to check with their Customs office to verify whether the destination country permits the shipment of the intended products and whether an import license and pre-shipment inspection is required by the country. Where pre-shipment inspection is required, the fees for the inspection must be paid in advance; and are non-refundable. The customer will be required to provide specific information relevant to the receiver, including an import license number, destination contact and address details, etc.

Weigh and Measure, LLC is not responsible for any direct, indirect, punitive, or consequential damages that arise from improper international shipping practices.

International orders, which require pre-payment, are non-cancellable/non-refundable once shipped. Special order items for international shipping, including large volume items, are non-cancellable/non-refundable once payment has been made. The customer is responsible for roundtrip shipping for items in or out of warranty.

Warranties

PRODUCTS:  Most products carry a manufacturer’s limited warranty from the date of delivery. Customers acknowledge responsibility for ascertaining the warranty terms, before purchase, for any product intended to be purchased. Warranty information is found in the Warranty Tab on the Product pages on this website. If the warranty period is not shown on this website or does not provide sufficient information, please contact Customer Service (hyperlink the words “contact the customer service” to open new email) and enter “Warranty” in the subject line, or by phone (301) 774-9006.

Manufacturer warranties typically apply to defects attributable to materials or workmanship.  All moveable parts, batteries, cables, etc..  Warranties do not cover use, misuse, improper handling, dropping, knocking, improper assembly or disassembly, improper storage, etc.  Freight costs are not covered by warranty.

Manufacturers whose products are available on this Website offer limited manufacturer warranties that are specific to their products, where the warranty period is displayed in the Warranty tab of the Product’s page.

Weigh and Measure’s limited manufacturer’s warranty our products below is from date of delivery as follows:

Warranty Process
A warranty claim requires a Return Authorization number for any product that is found defective under the terms of any manufacturer’s warranty or if the customer receives an incorrect product.

Repair or replacement of an approved warrantied product shall be at no cost to the customer. Contact Customer Service (add hyperlink to words “Customer Service” to open a new email) and enter “RMA Request” in the Subject line, or by phone (301) 774-9006 for information and to obtain an RMA# and for instructions regarding where the customer must ship, prepaid, the defective product back to the manufacturer.

Warranty Claim for Transport Damage
In the event of damage during transport, claims under warranty must be made within seven (7) days of delivery, and shall only be honored where the complete original shipping packaging is retained with the product, along with all shipping documents and product enclosures intact (manuals, brochures, inserts, etc.).

Replacement of a product damaged during transit must be approved by Weigh and Measure, LLC. The customer must provide proof of damage, which shall include photographic evidence of the damage to the product, original packaging and packing materials. An on-site, visual inspection may also be required, usually by the carrier’s representative. Retain the damaged product and original packaging, even after replacement has taken place, until Weigh and Measure makes arrangements for the return of the damaged goods.

Returns/Refunds and Cancellations

The customer acknowledges responsibility for determining and understanding, prior to purchase, the return/refund eligibility of the product intended to be purchased, including possible restocking fees. There is no refund, credit or exchange for merchandise returned, at any time, without the original packaging and without a Return Authorization code (“RMA#”); or returned after 30 days of purchase.

The customer acknowledges that an order may be cancelled within 30 minutes after it is submitted – only during business hours; some exclusions may apply.  Once an order has shipped it cannot be cancelled and the terms of our Return Policy apply.

30-Day Return Policy
All returns and exchanges must be authorized; and products returned, pre-paid, in original packaging with all parts, manuals/brochures/inserts intact, etc.

Authorized returns will be refunded, excluding shipping charges, and where applicable for international orders, customs, duties, taxes, and any related clearance fees, which are non-refundable, and minus the applicable restocking fee (hyperlink words “restocking fee” to  “Restock Fee” section).

Contact Customer Service (hyperlink words “customer service” to open a  new email) and enter “Return Request Information” in the Subject line or phone (301) 774-9006 to obtain the required RMA number and instructions for return.

If the customer receives a defective or incorrect item, which is covered by the manufacturer’s Warranty, please contact Customer Service at once (within 3 business days) to arrange for return/replacement. (hyperlink words “customer service” to go to “Warranty Process” section). The cost of shipping and handling is not refundable.

Special or custom orders are non-returnable and non-refundable, unless otherwise confirmed in writing by Weigh and Measure, LLC. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Restock Fee
Authorized returns incur a restocking fee of up to 25%, depending on the product.

Authorized exchanges for a product from the same manufacturer do not usually incur a restocking fee, however, this is at the discretion of the manufacturer and beyond Weigh and Measure’s control.
